Wipeout

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Wipeout is a sequel to Ninja Warrior airing all summer long on ABC in 2008. 24 contestants compete to see who can survive the rigors of typical Japanese life in a small, unnamed section of Tokyo. Giant monster attacks, fighting robots and ultra-powered Japanese schoolgirls are the order of the day as competitors try to survive among the chaos. The winners (that is, the ones who are able to survive a whole week of this treatment) receive a chance to be interviewed on ABC's other Japan-inspired show, I Survived a Japanese Game Show

Not surprisingly, Wipeout became a ratings hit, beating out both Hell's Kitchen and America's Got Talent in its first week.
