Three's Company
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Three's Company was the result of a big misunderstanding on the part of ABC. At the time, their Saturday morning show Schoolhouse Rock was the top-rated children's television show in America. However, the star of Schoolhouse Rock, 3, was doing a lot of grumbling and whining and didn't seem satisfied with its role. Believing that their star needed a bigger role to be kept happy, ABC developed Three's Company and put it on the primetime schedule.
However, it turned out that 3 was just upset about spending too much time in the spotlight. In 3's view, its popularity was taking away from the other numbers on Schoolhouse Rock, not to mention the show's grammar and history lessons. Realizing that it had all been a huge mistake, ABC quickly cancelled Three's Company and returned 3 to its rightful role on Saturday mornings.
