TV Land
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
TV Land is a cable channel developed by the creators of Nickelodeon to relieve its excess programming problems. Originally airing a variety of old sitcoms and DuMont Network programming, TV Land has found its niche by limiting its broadcasts to:
- Shows starring or featuring Michael Landon.
- Shows that have inspired at least one Broadway musical (such as The Brady Bunch).
- "Marathons" of shows not seen on the air since the 1970s.
- Retrospectives featuring actors and actresses talking about shows from the above 3 categories.
TV Land also gives out its own TV Land Awards annually, in a show broadcast live from the executive producer's basement.
