The Late Show with David Letterman, contrary to popular belief, is not a scheme to try and take over the world; rather, it is another talk show hosted by David Letterman, who had prior success hosting Late Night. The show aired on ABC, who before then hadn't even heard of David Letterman.

The talk show featured a segment entitled "The Late Late Show", which showed old 50s sci-fi movies. Viewers didn't catch on, so the program was scuttled.
