Showtime

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Showtime is a pay cable television network.

History

In the early 1970s, HBO was comprised of two networks, HBO Red and HBO Blue. The FCC forced HBO to divest itself of one of its networks. It chose to sell the Blue network, which aired mostly World War II-era hygiene films and the television series It's Garry Shandling's Show and It's Nipsey Russell's Show.

Today, Showtime still lags behind HBO, except among lesbians, suburban marijuana dealers, and clandestine serial killers.
