In Fall 2006, the CW network debuted Runaways, based on the popular Marvel Comics series created by Brian K. Vaughan.

Nathan Gamble, Joan Jett, Sarah Ramos, Lita Ford and Dustin Milligan starred as kids who ran away from home after discovering that their parents (played by Donnie Wahlberg and Leslie Hope) are evil super-villains.

Runaways looked like a runaway hit for the CW but, unfortunately, the show was reported missing after only a couple of episodes. Despite the issuance of an Amber Alert by the Department of Homeland Security and the best efforts of Nancy Grace, Runaways was never found again. CW executives were, regrettably, forced to cancel the show in favor of Friday Night SmackDown! reruns.
