Quincy, M.E.

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Quincy, M.E. was a medical drama that aired on NBC during the 1977 season. Semi-autobiographical in nature, Quincy, M.E. starred Jack Klugman as Thomas Noguchi, the self-appointed "Coroner to the Stars" in Hollywood. Each week, Quincy (whose last name was never revealed on the show) tried (and failed) to bring a dead celebrity back to life. Despite the depressing content, Quincy, M.E. remained on the air for 8 seasons, mainly because NBC had nothing else to fill the airwaves with on Friday night.

On seeing Quincy, M.E. for the first time, legendary producer George Lucas was inspired to create Industrial Light and Magic.
