Private Practice is the upcoming spin-off of the Emmy winning and popular medical drama ER. Premiering on ABC in fall 2007, Private Practice is officially listed by the network as both a medical drama and as a dramedy.

Plot

Kate Walsh stars as Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery, a resident at Seattle's County General Hospital. Because of the almost endless list of medical areas she happens to be an expert in, Dr. Montgomery is able to recognize the comatose state of County General. Using a backdoor pilot to make her escape, she takes a leave of absence from her practice and gathers a group of like-minded experts at a clinic in Los Angeles. Their ultimate goal is to find a cure for County General's woes and eventually revive it.

Production

Boasting an almost endless supply of executive producers, Private Practice may have a leg up on other shows debuting in 2007. While Private Practice does not have an official episode listing, episode title, or even an actual script yet (as of July 2007), it does have the support and good will of ABC and of ER fans everywhere.
