Pirate Master
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Pirate Master is the latest reality television offering from Mark Burnett. Airing as a summertime program on CBS, Pirate Master follows the lives of 16 aspiring CIA applicants as they track down pirates across the Internet. Contestants battle to see which one can find the most violators of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act; the one with the lowest total is, of course, eliminated. Much like the "To Catch A Predator" segments on Dateline NBC, the lawbreakers are interviewed by host Connie Chung before being arrested. Pirate Master will also air in Canada, mainly as a warning to any potential lawbreakers in the frozen North.
Cancellation
Despite good ratings, Pirate Master was cancelled after only a few weeks. Due to a decrease in manpower at the Department of Homeland Security following a particularly devastating episode of The Iraq War, the CIA was forced to promote all remaining contestants to full agents and end filming early.
