Operation Petticoat was a sequel to the popular CBS sitcom Petticoat Junction from the 1960s. Airing on ABC and starring John Astin and Jamie Lee Curtis, Operation Petticoat was the touching story of an American submarine commander trying to fight World War II while raising his 3 teenage daughters. Despite steadily improving ratings, Operation Petticoat was never more than a cult hit and was cancelled by the end of the 1977 season.
