Northwest Territories

The Northwest Territories, located in the northwestern part of Canada, are the coldest, most brutal territories on Earth, including even Russia. The only things that call this icy place home are Eskimos, penguins and polar bears. In spite of (or perhaps because of) the brutal climate, television writers and producers have filmed all or parts of many television shows in what they like to call Canada's Great Northwest (and what most other people would call "An Icy H-E-Double-Hockey Sticks). Most Christmas specials are produced in the Northwest Territories, as are episodes of some reality television shows such as The Amazing Race. Occasionally, the Weather Channel will send a crew to film a documentary about how cold it is up there.
