Nickelodeon GaS
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Nickelodeon GaS, or simply GaS, was an experimental cable television channel run by the executives of the Nickelodeon network. The goal of "GaS" was to determine exactly how little actual programming content a network can air and still be viable. Starting with over two dozen programs in 1999, the on-air content of "GaS" was slashed to a mere six programs as of 2007. The goal was to eventually cut the network down to one 15-minute program per day, with plenty of time left over for advertisements and infomercials. However, "GaS" soon ran out of gas (and viewers) and was replaced by reruns borrowed from Noggin and The N in 2008.
