Mulholland Dr.

Now entering its seventh and final season on ABC, Mulholland Dr. was David Lynch's follow-up to his cult show Murder, She Wrote. Debuting in 2001, Mulholland Dr. was an instant smash success as audiences flocked to the compelling story of Betty Elms (Naomi Watts), an up-and-coming actress in Hollywood; and Detective Harry McKnight (Robert Forster), investigating the murder of actress Diane Selwyn--a murder that Betty may be involved in, even though she arrived in Hollywood after Selwyn was murdered.

The series became an instant ratings winner for ABC and has garned multiple Emmy nominations for best series and best actings nods for Watts and Forster.

In May 2007 Lynch and ABC announced that the series will come to a conclusion at the end of its seventh season. The shortened (sixteen episode) season will debut in February 2008. Fans completely unfamiliar with Lynch's oeuvre are anticipating a conclusion to the ongoing mystery.
