Lou Grant
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Lou Grant was a spin-off of the popular sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Airing on CBS during the 70s, Lou Grant was the story of the improbable transition of a neurotic television news producer into an edgy, opinionated newspaper editor in Los Angeles. Airing as a one-hour drama, Lou Grant contained a number of episodes which were popular with the Democratic Party and unpopular with the religious right.

Years later, Rupert Murdoch made a sequel to Lou Grant, in which he attempted to correct what he called "the many mistakes in the show's premise". The sequel, titled Fox News Channel, continues to air to this day on cable television.
