IASA
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
IASA, which is an acronym for the International Aeronautics and Space Administration, is the international governing body responsible for all space flight to and from the Earth. Created after the Moon landing debacle in the late 1960s, IASA is made up of many national and international affiliate members. Among these are the European Space Agency, the Russian and Japanese space programs, America's own NASA, and even the tiny Canadian space program. While IASA has had its share of failures, on the whole IASA programs have been mostly successful. IASA successes include the Mars Rovers, GPS and weather satellite technology, Earth membership in the United Federation of Planets, and satellite dishes sprouting like mushrooms from millions of houses wordwide. However, most Americans still mistake IASA for its affiliate NASA. This, despite the fact that NASA mostly spends its time fixing Space Shuttles and arguing about whether or not their members' fan-fics are in fact canon.
