Global Frequency
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Global Frequency debuted as a mid-season replacement on The WB in January 2005. Based on the comic book series by Warren Ellis, the show centered around a secret organization known as The 4400, organized by a woman named Miranda Zero (Michelle Forbes). Each week different operatives of The 4400--each of whom was a world expert in one or more fields--were called into service by Zero to combat a global threat of epic proportions.
Global Frequency was an instant ratings and critical success, spawning numerous fansites on The Internet and moving The WB into fourth place in key demographics during the February sweeps.
However, the show lasted for just two half seasons; the series was cancelled in December 2005 when star Michelle Forbes unexpectedly left the series.
