Gabe Kaplan and His Amazing Friends is a 1983 cartoon spin-off of the television series Welcome Back, Kotter. Both starred Gabe Kaplan as Gabe Kotter.
The premise of the series was that Kotter would be inexplicably teamed up with two members of the super-hero team known to New Yorkers as the X-Men. One was constantly on fire, while the other had been cryogenically frozen.
Together, the three battled such threats as Dr. Doom and the Kingpin. One enemy they could not defeat, however, was the Incredible Hulk, who immediately replaced the "Amazing Friends" in the title as the series became known as Gabe Kaplan and the Incredible Hulk.
It went off the air in 1989, but can still be seen on GSN.
