Futurama

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Futurama, a much loved-animated series that formerly aired on Fox, is creator Matt Groening's nightmare vision of a future ruled by unchecked liberalism. It follows an ordinary pizza delivery boy flung by a cryogenic accident into the year 3000. There, he discovers that surly Mexican robots have stolen our industrial jobs, Jewish crustaceans dominate the medical profession, and women are allowed to pilot spaceships.

Despite high ratings and a loyal audience, Fox's Anguish division cancelled Futurama in 2003. The resulting misery, mystically harvested from tormented fans, added at least another century to Rupert Murdoch's unholy and unnatural lifespan.

Good News, Everyone!

In 2006, Comedy Central announced that it would revive Futurama for at least 13 new episodes, starting sometime in 2008. The network also announced plans to develop a time machine that will users to skip directly to 2008 to see those new episodes, which would offer the added bonus of sparing America from two long years of Mind of Mencia, We're Desecrating the Corpse of a Once-Great Comedy Show For Money, the final two years of President George W. Bush's term in office, and, at the rate things are going, quite possibly the end of all life on Earth.
