Friday night
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Friday Night is considered across the United States of America as the number one party night of the week. Dating, dancing, going to sporting events, drinking, drug use and even sex are among the activities pursued by typical Americans on Friday night. Even nerdy introverts go out and drive around in their cars for 3 hours or so on Friday nights, to prove to the neighbors that they aren't terrorists or something.
Because of all this non-television related activity on Friday, this night is called the Night of Death by executives of major television networks. Shows airing on Friday night usually end up on hiatus or cancelled in an alarmingly short amount of time. Currently, only professional wrestling shows seem to be immune to this trend; however, this could be because the network airing them can only be marginally considered "major".
