Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids was the first animated project by Shows With "Cosby" In Their Names, Inc. and was launched right after the cancellation of another Cosby project, The Bill Cosby Show, in the hopes that Bill Cosby could stay on television (in some form) for at least ten years.
Cosby was the live-action host of the series, which began in 1972 and starred Kenan Thompson as Fat Albert, a depressed loner who was pissed off at the world for making fun of his obese self. But every time he saw the Cosby kids, he shouted "Hey hey hey!" and suddenly had the urge to teach everyone about morals.
It went off the air in 1976 and has since been released on DVD, yet not one copy of it has been bought.
The show was based off of the primetime special Hey, Hey, Hey, It's Fat Albert, which showcased the first appearance and dark, dark origin of the fat one.
