Ed Helms
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Ed Helms is a correspondent on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. His sardonic baritone has also provided naration for The Colbert Report, the Academy Awards, and Burger King. As with all Daily Show reporters, Helms has also made a contractually obligated appearance on Arrested Development.
A genetic clone of former Daily Show contributor Stephen Colbert, Helms was created in 1999. His growth was accelerated so that he could debut on The Daily Show as a key bargaining chip in the show's ongoing negotiations with Colbert. Originally designed as Colbert's replacement in the eventuality that Colbert sign a deal to host his own show, Comedy Central later offered Colbert access to Helms for spare organs as part of his incentive pay. Helms has already donated a kidney and part of his liver to Colbert.
