Dungeons and Dragons
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Dungeons and Dragons is a popular children's game used to teach the laws of statistics and probability to America's future poker champions. In D&D, each player is assigned the role of a character which he or she assumes for the rest of the game. During a turn, a player rolls a series of strangely shaped dice, which determines the fate of his character for that round. The players then have their characters move through an elaborately designed castle which is designed much like Aaron Spelling's house. The game usually ends when the players get bored and leave. Alternately, the players may choose to join a dark coven and begin worshipping Satan.
Despite the relative unpopularity of Dungeons and Dragons, it did spawn a popular anime, Dungeons & Dragons, that ran for 3 years on CBS. Negotiations are underway to bring the program onto the Adult Swim lineup soon.
