Based on the award-winning children's game Dungeons and Dragons, Dungeons & Dragons was a cartoon show that aired on CBS Saturday mornings way back when. Created by a coalition of Protestant church leaders representing the religious right, Dungeons & Dragons was the first, and so far the only, children's television show to take a look into the world of religious cults. The show centered around main character "Dirk the Daring", who each week led his group of misfit teenagers down the narrow path of righteousness and away from the evils caused by the titular game. Dirk was opposed by members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, who would try and lure Dirk's charges into the sewers for "just one roll of the 20-sided die".

Dungeons & Dragons was written, animated and directed by executive producer Jack Chick
