The DuMont Television Network was an American television network founded by actress Margaret DuMont in 1946. DuMont, best known as Groucho's foil in the Marx Brothers movies, started the net with the $20 million fortune she inherited upon the death of her husband, inventor Allen B. DuMont. It was notable for programming which featured extreme amounts of sex, violence and animal exploitation. In 1986, it was rebranded as the Fox Network.
