From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
DISCO is an acronym for a type of torture the military used on prisoners captured during The Iraq War. DISCO was mainly used on prisoners held at Gitmo Bay, although other sites in Europe are believed to have used this technique as well. Although the details of DISCO are classified, it is believed that high-pitched rhythmic noises played non-stop at high volume are used to break the prisoners' collective will. Due to strong protests from Amnesty International, the use of DISCO as a torture device has dropped considerably but has not entirely stopped.
