Desire: Table for Three
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Desire: Table for Three is a telenovela imported from Colombia for broadcast on the new television network, My Network TV. Scheduled to air in Fall 2006, Desire: Table for Three tells the story of two Italian brothers, Mario (Nate Haden) and Luigi (Zack Morris), on the run from the Mafia after their Italian restaurant caused several "family" members to go belly up. The brothers and their friend Princess (Michelle Belegrin) are forced to race to Los Angeles one step ahead of the Mob's best gunman, a mysterious figure known only as "Bowser". The relationship between the brothers and Princess is somewhat ambiguous, but the constant danger of running from level to level town to town keeps the plot moving. The unusual background music, seemingly composed during the 1980's by some kid with a Casio keyboard, is also a key element in the show.
Desire: Table for Three was originally developed by Fox Television in association with Nintendo. The show was sold to My Network TV after Rupert Murdoch saw the initial previews of the show. Desire: Table for Three is being translated from Spanish by the same team who translated the popular anime series, One Piece.
