Degrassi

In the Canadian educational system, the term Degrassi may refer to the following:

• The Degrassi Scholastic Organisation, currently the largest educational facility in British Ontario. Degrassi currently operates a daycare facility, a kindergarten, an elementary school, a junior high school, a high school, a college, a university and a Junior-B hockey league, all in the greater Toronto area.
• Degrassi Street, the street on which the original headquarters of the Degrassi Scholastic Organisation was located and now the location of Canada's only 24-hour Tim Horton's.
• Captain Filippo "Philip" De Grassi, longtime headmaster of the Degrassi Scholastic Organisation and (until recently) close personal friend of former Canadian ruler King Friday XIII.
• The series of CBC documentaries featuring the lives of typical students and NHL hopefuls at the various Degrassi facilities. The series, which has run since 1956, includes:
  • The Kids of Degrassi Street and its sequel The Kids in the Hall.
  • Degrassi Junior High
  • Degrassi High
  • Degrassi: The Next Generation
  • Degrassi: Voyageur

In America, the term Degrassi means nothing to anyone, except perhaps to bored teenage girls watching The N.
