Daybreak

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

In an attempt to compete with morning programming such as The View and Live with Regis and Kelly, ABC created DayBreak in 2006. Originally scheduled to follow Good Morning America, DayBreak was hosted by Adam Baldwin, DayBreak featured celebrity interviews, cooking segments, musical guests and weather with meterologist Taye Diggs.

DayBreak was scheduled to air in the 9:00 AM slot, but due to a clerical error at Disney headquarters actually aired at 9:00 PM on Wednesdays starting in the month of Sweeps. Amazingly, the show continued to air in this time slot for nearly a month before anybody at ABC noticed. (This is believed to be due to the network's staff playing with their brand new Wii's during this time.) Finally realizing their mistake, the network pulled DayBreak for retooling and indicated that the show would resume airing "really soon on the Internet, so check your iPods".
