Cinematech

From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.

Back when G4 was still Tech TV, the network's interns (who had little else to do thanks to the network's low ratings and unappealing shows) spent most of their time playing video games. A lot of video games, mostly imported from Japan and mostly featuring either Pokemon or Japanese schoolgirls. Being none too bright, the interns had problems getting through most levels on these games. To improve their scores, many of them resorted to videotaping (old style VCR tape, as Tech TV didn't have the budget for digital gadgetry) their games for later reanalysis.

As a result, when G4 liberated the Tech TV compound in San Francisco they found literally miles of tape featuring these games. The talented G4 production staff re-edited this footage as best they could and would up creating Cinematech, a comedy show featuring the Tech TV interns' pathetic gameplaying abilities. Airing whenever G4 gets tired of showing Star Trek: The Next Generation and Arrested Development reruns, Cinematech is nonetheless more entertaining than anything Tech TV ever came up with.
