Cheers
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Cheers is a half-hour documentary program that had a long and successful run on NBC.
Each installment of Cheers compiles thirty minutes of footage of assorted people cheering. Football cheers, basketball cheers, Bronx cheers; any sort of cheer is fair game for Cheers. No jeers allowed on this show!
Devoted Cheers fans (or "boosters", as they were collectively known) remember with particular fondness a one-hour Very Special Episode devoted entirely to "The Wave."
A hightly uplifting show, is it any wonder Cheers is considered an essential component of The Greatest Two-Hour Programming Block in the History of Television?
The theme song was performed by Blue Cheer. Sonny and Cher were considered, but Cher refused to add an extra e to her stage name. Procter and Gamble sponsored.
