Cat-Minster
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Cat-Minster is Game Show Network's idea of an April Fool's Day joke. Broadcast on said April Fool's Day in 2007, the special was notable for making it clear that the network's status had moved from "Unsure" to "Desperate", and a charity gig has been scheduled for July 7, 2007 to help the struggling network regain its marbles.
The Special
Middle-aged women with absolutely no life came to, of all places, California to show off their cats. The show was emceed by Robin Leach, mainly because Leach wanted to assure everyone that he did sound like that even when he didn't have a head cold. Leach coined the phrase "size DOES matter" during the event, yet it was shot down by Dr. Ruth Westheimer immediately afterwards.
During the middle of the special, Westheimer started passing out a leaflet with a phone number written on it. The number was the number of the psychiatrist whom that particular person was assigned to before the show. Many of these psychiatrists still haven't seen their patients, but have seen plenty of lawsuits.
The Reaction
Hey, it's better than poker.
