Call For Help
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Call For Help was a call-in show on the despised Tech TV cable network. Described brutally but accurately as "Cry For Help", the show featured CIA agent Lara Croft, the world's first CGI animated television show host, co-hosting with overworked Tech TV host Leo Laporte.
In theory, Call For Help was aimed at helping computer users with typical problems. In reality, no actual computer users were helped during the course of the show. In fact, the only callers were telemarketers, fanboys expressing their affections for Croft, and Laporte's lovely mother. As a result, most episodes consisted of the co-hosts arguing over whether Windows or Linux was the better computer operating system.
While Call For Help was never officially cancelled when G4 took over, it was badly mauled by another show and has not aired since. Laporte cashed his last paycheck and ran off to Canada. Croft is officially missing but is believed to still be alive and working for the CIA.
