C-SPAN
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
C-SPAN is a channel devoted to the long-running reality series Congress, which focuses on 435 people picked from all over the country to have long-winded debates, give speeches either for or against President Bush, get advised by lobbyists, and ultimately vote on bills. Every 2 seasons, there is a highly staged ritual called Election Day, where most of the Congress members are voted back onto the show and a few of them are fired by House Majority Leader Donald Trump.
Seizing an opportunity to capitialize on the huge audiences watching C-SPAN, cable operators rushed to create C-SPAN2. Many critics acknowledge that the spin-off doesn't measure up to the original. Nevertheless, cable operators pressed ahead and created C-SPAN3.
