Barney Miller was a groundbreaking children's television show that aired on ABC during the 1970s. Each week, Detective Miller would outline the steps police used to solve crimes from his fictional police station set in Greenwich Village. Barney Miller won several Emmy Awards during its eight season run, along with a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award.

The sequel to Barney Miller, titled Barney & Friends, aired on PBS for several years during the 1990s to wide critical acclaim.
