Baretta was an ABC anthology series where every episode featured the same Beretta 92SB-F 9mm pistol, although with a new cast and unrelated plot. The pilot episode featured an out-of-work actor (Tony Musante) shooting his wife because she had been having an affair with a former child star (Robert Blake).

The incorrect spelling of the brand name of the title gun was a typical result of Writers Guild arbitration.
