B.J. and the Bear was an animated NBC children's series about the comical exploits of a 18-wheeler-driving chimpanzee (voice of Paul Reiser) and his attempts to escape a hungry bear with a taste for monkey meat (Claude Akins). The show's catchphrase, "Chimpanzees aren't monkeys!" swept the nation in the fall of 1982.
