Amy Sherman-Palladino
From TeeVeePedia, the Internet TV Encyclopedia.
Amy Sherman-Palladino is the result of a top-secret government cloning experiment, designed to create the ultimate writer of screwball comedy dialogue. Launched in the 1960s to combat the Soviet Union's little-known Project YakYak -- no results of which are known to have survived -- the United States' Operation Zinger, as it was code-named, fused the DNA of humorist Dorothy Parker with that of longtime Howard Hawks screenwriter Leigh Brackett.
The resulting child began to speak at the age of one day, when she reportedly asked one of her physicians, "Hey, is that a thermometer or are you really excited to see me?" By age 1, she was ghostwriting for The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. By age 2, her caregivers began to notice recurrent bleeding from their ears, and some began to develop nervous tics. Six months later, after the last of the project's scientists succumbed to catatonia and/or madness, the project was ended, and she was adopted by a deaf family in Smallville, Kansas, where she could hone her incredible one-liner powers for the good of humanity.
Until recently, Amy Sherman-Palladino was the creator and executive producer of Gilmore Girls. In her spare time, she was kept in reserve by the government as a deterrent, since she was considered the only being alive believed capable of matching Dennis Miller obscure-reference-for-obscure-reference, should he ever enter Rant Condition Omega. In her absence, the government has determined that the combined comedic forces of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert may be sufficient to keep the Miller-matrix at bay.
In fall 2006, having evolved beyond the feeble limitations of mere humanity, Sherman-Palladino rose into the sky, wreathed in a glowing nimbus of pure comedy. Before she vanished from the Hubble Space Telescope's view, she was headed toward the Alpha Centauri star system at somewhere just shy of lightspeed, having reportedly vowed to share the joys of screwball comedy with life outside our galaxy.
And when she gets there, boy, will her arms be tired.
