American Heiress, a telenovela about an heiress who lives in America, was originally developed by the Discovery Channel by the same people who developed American Chopper and American Hot Rod. American Heiress was to have been about a rich girl who hung out at parties in Hollywood and Las Vegas, causing problems wherever she went. After sobering up, executives at the Discovery Channel realized that nobody was interested in seeing a show like that. They quickly sold the rights to American Heiress to My Network TV, where nobody in their right minds will bother to watch it.
