Alton Brown

Atlanta-based Alton Brown is the coolest human being on American television and one of the 12 coolest people on the planet.

His Food Network show Good Eats mixes science, cooking and sketch comedy to give viewers not only recipes but reasons —- such as the chemistry or physics behind various cooking techniques. Some episodes have plot lines —- Brown is a patient scheming to escape from a mental institution or a spy trying to stop a despicable French chef from turning the water supply into court bouillon.

Brown was created in a secret Food Network laboratory using IQ points that had been surgically removed from Bobby Flay, Rachael Ray and Mark Summers, all of whom have been gibbering idiots ever since. It is therefore an irony that Brown now hosts Iron Chef America, for which Flay is one of the Iron Chefs.

Brown also hosts Emeril Live, and will soon demonstrate how not to ride a motorcycle on Feasting On Asphalt.
