Trained Shakespearean actor Adam West won three consecutive Emmy Awards for his nuanced portrayal of Moon Knight in the show of the same name, and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1985 for Young Lady Chatterley II. In recent years, West has rarely appeared on screen, preferring to perform on Broadway, but his periodic appearances are always an event.

West turned down numerous pleas and offers of a multi-million dollar payday from Tim Burton to appear in the Moon Knight films, preferring not to cheapen his legacy.
