The world's most powerful "Doppler Radar", the 9000 (as it's referred to on the show) can create weather havoc in minutes, anywhere on Earth. By inputting a weather event and a location, the producers of Abrams & Bettes: Beyond The Forecast can ensure a big weather story whenever they need to. (Usually, this involves Weather Channel crew members losing the tape of the newest episode of It Could Happen Tomorrow or Storm Stories.) From snowstorms in summertime to tsunami warnings in Kansas, the 9000 does it all.

Controversies

• In the pilot episode of Abrams & Bettes: Beyond The Forecast, the 9000 totally destroyed the city of New Orleans, as well as much of the Golf Coast region of South America.
• Both the Legion of Doom and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants have made numerous attempts to steal the 9000 and use it for their own evil purposes. Ironically, if they succeed, they will likely cause less damage than the Weather Channel's use of the device already has.
• The 9000 nearly caused the cancellation of the 2006 World Series due to intensive flooding. Only the quick actions of Angus MacGyver and the Fox Network's non-stop replays of The War at Home episodes saved the World Series from further disaster.
